This triptych was created with European fan palms, gathered during a rare moment when I allowed myself to pause between busy show seasons and take a trip just for me in late 2025.
It was the kind of time that moved slowly—quiet city streets in the middle of the week, long sunlit afternoons by the pool, and a sense of calm I hadn’t felt in a while. For a few days, everything felt simple. Almost like being in paradise.
I wandered without urgency, observing, collecting, and letting the place imprint itself on me. I brought back a handful of fan palm leaves to my studio, and this piece came together the week after.
Each panel holds that memory—the warmth, the stillness, the feeling of being fully present. A quiet reminder of a time when I allowed myself to slow down and simply be.
