Original Cyanotype on Canvas - with Acacia Willow
This botanical cyanotype is a hand-printed original, created by putting a real plants directly onto a pre-treated canvas that I made in advance. The exposure was achieved using natural sunlight. Then paper was washed with water to get a final blueprint.
Cyanotype is a historic alternative (cameraless) photographic process dating back to the late 18th century, requiring no camera or digital negatives — plants served as the negatives to bring this piece to life.
This original work is done on 100% canvas, stretched and in a floater natural frame. Canvas is treated with UV protective varnish.
Art size 27”x27”, in maple floater frame.
