These botanical cyanotypes are hand-printed originals, created by carefully arranging plants directly onto a sheet of pre-treated cyanotype paper that I prepared in advance. The exposure was achieved using natural sunlight. Cyanotype is a historic alternative photographic process dating back to the late 18th century, requiring no camera or digital negatives — plants served as the negatives to bring this piece to life. This type of art is also considered as camerasless photography.
The paper I used creating this piece was Hahnemühle Platinum Rag fine art paper, 100% cotton and archival quality.
Artwork is custom framed with solid ayous wood, with conservation grade mat board. Framed artwork is stamped & signed 1/1.
