The eucalyptus branches were collected from the Griffith Park during a hiking trip.
This botanical cyanotype is a hand-printed original, created by carefully arranging eucalyptus directly onto a sheet of pre-treated cyanotype paper that I prepared in advance. The exposure was achieved using natural sunlight. Then was washed with water to get a final blueprint. Cyanotype is a historic alternative photographic process dating back to the late 18th century, requiring no camera or digital negatives — plants served as the negatives to bring this piece to life.
The paper I used creating this piece was Hahnemühle Platinum Rag fine art paper, 100% cotton and archival quality.
Art size 22’’x30’’, custom framed and matted to 26’’ x 34’’. Combined size is 52’’x34’’
