This botanical cyanotype is a hand-printed original, created by carefully arranging pressed bougainvilleas directly onto a sheet of pre-treated cyanotype paper that I prepared in advance. The exposure was achieved using natural sunlight. Cyanotype is a historic alternative photographic process dating back to the late 18th century, requiring no camera or digital negatives — plants served as the negatives to bring this piece to life.
