This botanical cyanotype is a hand-printed original, created by carefully arranging ginkgo leaves directly onto a sheet of pre-treated cyanotype paper that I prepared in advance. The exposure was achieved using natural sunlight. Cyanotype is a historic alternative photographic process dating back to the late 18th century, requiring no camera or digital negatives — plants served as the negatives to bring this piece to life.
The paper I used creating this piece was Hahnemühle Platinum Rag fine art paper, 100% cotton and archival quality.
Artwork is framed with solid oak wood, with conservation mat board and behind UV acrylic 99% UV protection.
